A hiker came from the north in search of the most beautiful place in Italy.

 

Where would he find it?

 

The journey took him south, past the peaks of the Dolomites, the lakeside promenades of Lake Garda and the vineyards of Tuscany.

Every place did its best, but much of it seemed to be just a theater stage, decoration, the roles played.

 

Anno 2016 ... the Intercity Bologna-Taranto rushes through the magnificent landscapes of the Marche region, with the vast sea on the left and rolling hills with rugged mountain shapes in the background on the right.

 

The journey slows down and, with squeaking wheels, the train stops at a station.

The hiker gets off.  The destination has been reached.

 

Monterubbiano and Moresco - pearls between the blue waves of the Adriatic, rolling hills at sunset and the snow-capped peaks of the Monti Sibillini National Park.

 

The beauty of the landscape, the simple carefree friendliness of the people and fine Italian cuisine give these places something special.

 

Far away from the highly stylized tourist hotspots, you can experience rural Italy as it really is.

Simplicity, naturalness, lightness and joie de vivre are just as much a part of it as small shortcomings that are gladly discussed and cleverly concealed with a great deal of pragmatism.
